About Gorakhpur Zoo
The commitment of the State Government, for the conservation of wildlife, promotion
of awareness of Nature and spreading consciousness about Wild Life, was reiterated
emphatically, with the renewed steps being taken for the construction of the Shaheed
Ashfaq Ullah Khan Zoo, Gorakhpur.
Work is in progress, regarding the development of the site. With the initial investment
of Rs. 5.00 crores in 2013-14, and a further commitment of Rs. 5.00 Crores in 2014-15,
the State Government, has once again cemented its commitment for wildlife conservation.
The envisaged world class Zoo, is expected to become a reality soon and will be
a center of eco-tourism in the eastern part of the State.
